NEWS: Peterborough Positive enters partnership with Locus
Following on from its success in becoming a Business Improvement District (BID), Peterborough Positive has entered a strategic partnership with Locus to manage and facilitate the delivery of the key priorities that will see £1.8 million invested directly into the city centre.
Peterborough Positive is the city’s BID campaign, and it received an impressive 84% of ‘yes’ votes at ballot in November 2021. Representing over 400 businesses and organisations, the BID will lead on innovative projects and provide key investment, all with an aim to make the city centre a cleaner, safer and more welcoming place: raising its profile nationally with new, diverse and prestigious events and exciting marketing campaigns.
One of the BID’s first steps was to select a partner to support in delivery projects. As experts in place-shaping, place-marketing and local partnership development, and with proven specialism in BIDs and DMOs (Destination Management Organisations), we are excited that Locus was selected. The team will work in collaboration with Peterborough Positive, focusing on delivering an ambitious business plan to transform the city centre.
Mark Broadhead, Chair of Peterborough Positive , said:
“Appointing Locus as our strategic partner is a huge first step for the BID. We are confident we have found a partner that understands what is required to deliver our objectives, and feels as passionately about Peterborough as we all do. The hard work now begins in delivering the initiatives outlined in the BID's Business Plan. Together with Locus, we will give our business community a collective voice which will make a huge difference in achieving positive change and improving Peterborough’s city centre.”
Paul Clement, Chief Executive Officer at Locus, added:
“We are delighted to be working with Peterborough Positive in a partnership that will kick-start a series of ambitious place-shaping projects in the city. At Locus, we are passionate about working in extraordinary places with amazing people; and we are excited to be doing just that in Peterborough with the Peterborough Positive team.”
Over the coming weeks, the search commences for a Business Improvement Manager. Based at the BID office in Queensgate’s Westgate Arcade, this pivotal role will oversee the delivery of the BID’s objectives to improve the city centre over the next five years.
